About this machine
The Kubota KX018-4 is a 1.8 tonne mini excavator built for jobs where access is the problem. The variable track width retracts from 990mm to 900mm, which is the difference between getting through a standard side gate and not getting through at all.
It runs a 3-cylinder Kubota D902-E4 diesel (Tier 4 compliant, 15.5 HP net) with a maximum bucket breakout force of 1630kg and a digging depth of 2.38 metres. That is a genuinely useful working range for a machine this size, and it will reach the bottom of most residential trenches in a single pass.
Straight-travel hydraulics keep the machine tracking in a line even while you are working the boom, arm and bucket at the same time, and two-speed travel on the dozer stick makes moving around a site quicker. The long tumbler distance and wide variable track give it good stability when lifting.
It is available for dry hire, which means you supply the operator. Buckets and a ripper are included in the standard hire; augers and a rock breaker are available on request for an additional charge.
