Common questions

Do you deliver, or do I pick it up?
Either works, whichever suits you. Dave can deliver the machine on its trailer anywhere across the 1770 & surrounding areas, or you can collect it from Taunton yourself. Pickup means towing a 1.8 tonne machine on a plant trailer, so you need a vehicle rated for it and to be comfortable towing that load. Call to arrange either option and to confirm the delivery cost to your address.
Do I need a licence or ticket to operate it?
For work on your own residential property, no licence is legally required in Queensland. On a commercial or workplace site, the operator needs to be trained and competent under WHS rules, and the site may have its own requirements. Either way you need to genuinely know how to run a mini excavator. This is dry hire, so no operator is supplied.
Will it fit through my gate?
The KX018-4 retracts to 900mm across the tracks, so it fits through a standard 1 metre gateway. Measure the narrowest point of your access before booking, and mention any steps, slopes or soft ground when you call.
What attachments come with it?
300mm, 450mm and 900mm buckets plus a single tooth ripper are included in the standard hire. A 300mm auger, 450mm auger and a rock breaker are available on request for an additional charge. Ask when you book so they go on the trailer.
How much does it cost?
Rates depend on how long you need it and where it is going, so pricing is given per job rather than published as a fixed list. Call Dave on 0401 000 348 with your dates and location and he'll give you a price.
How far ahead should I book?
There is one machine, so popular weeks and long weekends go early. A week or two of notice is safest, but it is always worth calling on short notice in case it is free.
